Support Labour This Labour Day
Join CUPE 3902 at the Labour Day Parade
This fall, Units 1 and 3 will be bargaining for potentially game-changing collective agreements. As important as that is, it is also important to remember that what we bargain for is ultimately bigger than our own concerns. Our negotiations have a profound effect on the university as a whole, and thus on the role the university plays in our society. It is also important to remember that the work we do at the University is connected to the labour performed by all working people. What we seek in bargaining—dignity, fairness, and security—are goals all workers seek to achieve.
So, please join CUPE 3902 as we march with our fellow workers in the Labour Day Parade. The details are below, but here’s the gist: Come out and support workers’ rights. You’ll be in good company, and you’ll gain free admission to the CNE (along with ride tickets for children). We’ll also be convening at The Craft in Liberty Village that afternoon for a social. If you can’t make the parade, come out and meet your fellow educators. The more connected we are, the stronger we are, and the better our working conditions can become.
